In conjunction with Ranelagh Arts The Village Cine Club will be reopening February 2011. Our dominant intention is to show the best in alternative and independent cinema from around the world which may not be readily available to view or rent from most regional video shops and mainstream cinemas. We do not wish to undermine such establishments but simply aspire to granting those people interested in great cinema an opportunity to see these movies on a big screen when they previously may not have had the opportunity to do so.
We particularly wish to encourage young Independent Irish Filmmakers to show their work, to give them a chance to publicise and share their work with a wider audience. We wish to help such artists as best we can and are more than willing to offer them a screening area as often as we can as we know how hard it can be to get such projects off the ground
We hope we will be able to grow as an organization and we are wholly determined never to compromise our beliefs and morals in relation to showing the best in contemporary and classic cinema.
